Using East Moment

By using this site or submitting material, you agree to these Terms, the Community Guidelines and the relevant parts of the Privacy Notice. If you submit on behalf of another person or organization, you confirm that you are authorized to do so. Do not create an account or contribute if you cannot legally agree to these terms; minors should participate only with the permission and supervision required where they live.

Editorial content

Unless a page says otherwise, East Moment's original articles, editing, design, branding and site organization are protected works. You may link to pages and quote limited passages with clear attribution. These terms do not permit republishing complete articles, copying the site at scale, removing credits, training a commercial content product on restricted material, or presenting East Moment's work as your own.

Third-party images, videos, quotations and embedded services remain subject to their owners' terms and rights. A source link or appearance on East Moment does not grant visitors a separate licence to reuse that material.

You keep ownership of your contributions

You retain ownership of writing, photographs and other original material you submit. You grant East Moment a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, format, resize, display and distribute that material only as needed to operate, secure, moderate and present East Moment and the contribution in which it appears.

For China Moments photographs, use in a separate editorial article requires the additional optional permission shown in the submission form. We do not treat that optional permission as part of the basic posting licence.

The basic licence continues while your contribution is published. If it is removed, the public-use licence ends within a reasonable operational period, except for copies already shared by others, limited backups, records needed for safety or rights disputes, and uses you separately authorized.

What you promise when contributing

You confirm that your contribution is truthful to the best of your knowledge, that you created it or hold the permissions needed to submit it, and that it does not unlawfully expose another person's private information, image or protected work. Disclose commercial relationships and do not submit advertising as personal experience.

You remain responsible for your submission. East Moment's review reduces risk but does not transfer that responsibility to the editor.

Moderation, removal and accounts

East Moment may edit formatting, request changes, decline, restrict, label, move or remove material to protect accuracy, usefulness, safety, privacy and rights. We do not secretly change the meaning of a contribution. Where practical, a contributor may appeal from the email connected to the account.

Accounts may be suspended or closed for serious abuse or a documented pattern of infringement, deception, harassment, spam or evasion of moderation. Repeated-infringement decisions consider credible notices, responses, restored material and the member's history; one unsupported allegation does not automatically establish a violation.

Reports and rights requests

Community reports are governed by the Community Guidelines. Copyright, image-rights, privacy and removal requests follow the process on the Copyright and Rights Requests page. East Moment has not designated a United States DMCA agent and does not claim DMCA safe-harbour registration.

Availability and reliance

East Moment is an independent editorial and community service provided on an as-available basis. We work to correct material, but we do not promise that every page is complete, current or error-free, or that every feature will always remain available. Cultural, travel, health, financial and legal material is general editorial information, not individualized professional advice.

Links and embeds may lead to third-party services East Moment does not control. Their availability, privacy practices and content are their responsibility.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms as the community and its features change. Material changes will be dated on this page and, where practical, presented before a member next contributes. Questions, account closure requests and disputes can be sent to the address below.
