Reader-built field atlas

Proof to Page Atlas

A finished page conceals reversal and correction. A matched block, proof and final impression can show which line survived, what changed and how pressure or registration shaped the repeatable result.

The evidence pair

Two photographs that can be compared

Frame 1

The complete reversed block and an early proof from the same project with a shared detail identifiable

Frame 2

The final impression or bound page from that project with correction, pressure and registration differences marked

What the note must add

Name printer, carver, workshop, work, wood, date and edition only when records support them. Preserve creator rights and collection rules, and separate a visible printing symptom from an unverified claim about its cause.

Submissions remain private until East Moment reviews the rights, specificity and usefulness of the record.

Editorial founding evidence

A visible baseline, with the gaps left open

These are East Moment editorial records built from authorized or rights-cleared imagery. They are not reader submissions and do not count toward the public record total.

A block and two finished pages before the missing proofs

Unmatched museum process baseline

Open-license records show three different outcomes: a complete reversed text block in Yangzhou, a finely registered multicolor fruit page and a dense polychrome narrative sheet.

Historical Chinese book-printing block with reversed text
Visible: a complete reversed page field. Missing: its identified proof and final page.
Multicolor fruit page from the Ten Bamboo Studio handbook
Visible: multicolor registration on a finished page. This does not belong to the Yangzhou block.
Qing polychrome woodblock print with several narrative scenes
Visible: a dense final printed sheet. Its blocks, proofs and correction sequence are missing.

Still missing: The block and printed pages are unrelated objects, and no early proof or correction sheet is present. They cannot establish corresponding lines, a shared workshop, block sequence, pigment order, printing pressure, registration change or edition history.

Approved reader records

The Atlas in public

No matched block-proof-final chain has cleared review yet.

The first approved record must preserve one project's reversible evidence chain. A historical block beside an unrelated beautiful page cannot complete the Atlas.
