Temple Street

Temple Street works because it refuses to become a clean movie set. Market roofs run like a bright artery between apartment walls, laundry, air conditioners, signs and windows where ordinary life continues above the spectacle. The glamour and the pressure occupy the same frame. That is the Hong Kong I trust: compressed, commercial, domestic and cinematic without pretending those forces are separate.
